The no confidence motion submitted against finance minister Ravi Karunanayake was defeated this evening at the Parliament while 145 out of 225 MP'S in the Parliament voted against the motion and only 51 MP's voted in favor of it.The no confidence motion which was scheduled to be taken into debate yesterday(08) was postponed until today(09) by the speaker Karu Jayasuriya due to a technical fault of the house.
No Confidence Motion against Finance Minister was signed and handed over to the Parliamentary Speaker by 37 MP'S of the joint opposition group on 24th of March by accusing the Minister for providing false information to the house including some proposals of the budget-2016.
