The Sri Lanka Navy Personal have today (09)detained three local fishermen while involving in illegal fishing by using unauthorized fishing nets in the seas off ippantivu and periyaarachchal areas .During the raid the Navy Personal have taken to custody two fiber glass dinghies and two banned monofilament fishing nets according to Navy.
The detained fishermen and the equipment were handed over to the assistant director fisheries in Puttalam for future course of action.
