Sri Lanka Navy with the assistance of Sri Lankan Coast Guard Officers have today(07) arrested Nine Indian Fishermen who were illegally fishing in Sri Lankan waters of Western Analathivu Island in Northern Province.The Fishing Trawler the Indian Fishermen were in was also taken in to custody by the Navy according to reports.
The arrested Indian Fishermen and Fishing Trawler have been handed over to the Department of Fisheries And Aquatic Resources in Jaffna for future course of action the Navy have announced.
