The Sri Lanka Cricket has decided to appoint former Sri Lankan Cricket Captain and Chairman of National Cricket Selection Committee Sanath Jayasuriya as the new chairman of National Cricket Selection Committee .Sanath Jayasuriya will be appointed as the Chief Cricket Selector in view of taking Sri Lankan Cricket to a new path according to President Of Sri Lanka Cricket Thilanga Sumathipala.
Sri Lankan National Cricket Team has recently experienced heavy defeats in series matches as well as in Asia Cup and 20-20 World Cup.
The Former Cricket Captain Jayasuriya has been stepped down from Chief Cricket Selector's post he held earlier exactly a year ago..
Meanwhile Former Sri Lankan opener Romesh Kaluwitharana and Ranjith Madurasinghe also due to be appointed to the National Cricket Selection Committee headed by Sanath Jayasuriya according to Sri Lanka Cricket sources.
The current Chief Cricket Selector Aravinda De Silva is due to appoint as a national adviser to Sri Lanka Cricket.
