A National Mosquito Control Week has been declared from today(29) until 04th of April with the aim of carrying out Dengue Control Activities throughout the island according to Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine.This National Mosquito Control Week will be implemented strictly in 30 Dengue High Risk Zones situated in 10 Districts the Ministry has stated.
During the Mosquito Control Week house to house inspections will be carried out by health personal with the help of tri forces and Police to find out Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places and legal action will be taken against those who are maintaining such mosquito breeding places at their premises the Ministry Of Health has announced.
Public is advised to destroy dengue mosquito breeding places and keep their environment clean as there's a risk of spreading dengue rapidly during the forthcoming monsoon rainy season.
