Another Close Aide Of Thowheed Jammath Terrorist Organization Leader Zzahran Handed Over To TID

Sahul Hameed Hisbulla the  21 year old close aide of Thowheed Jamaatha Terrorist Organization Bomber Mohommad Zahran ,who was arrested on 15th of June by the Welimada Police regarding Easter Sunday attacks had handed over to the Terrorism Investigations Division (TID) today (09) for further questioning .

The suspect who had received arms training with Thowheed Jammath leader Zahran at Hambanthota is a resident of Baduria Road,Silmiapura ,Welimada area.

Galle Magistrate Harshana Kakunawela had remanded Victor Samaraweera the  chairman of  Lanka Private Limited which maintained Avant-Guarde floating Armory, until 19th of July after producing before the court today (09). 

The suspect was arrested Criminal Investigations Department (CID) last noon (08) after being surrendered to CID .He is one out of the eight suspects Attorney General has ordered to arrest over maintaining the floating armoury during previous government .

Attorney General To File An Appeal Against Colombo Chief Magistrate s Verdict To Release Former Defense Secretary And IGP

Attorney General Dappula De Livera is

due to file an Appeal before Colombo High Court against the verdict given by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne to release the Former Defense Secretary HemasirI Fernando and Inspector General Of Police Pujith Jayasundara on bail today  (09).

Attorney General due to be requested the High Court to revise the verdict given behalf of former Defense Secretary and IGP through the appeal.

The two suspects had been arrested over the Easter sunday attacks according to the instructions given by the committee appointed by President to inquire on Easter Sunday attacks.

Jayaratne has today (09)ordered to release former Defense Secretary HemasirI Fernando and Inspector General Of Police (IGP ) Pujith Jayasundara who is under compulsory leave arrested and remanded over Easter Sunday attacks, on two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each.

The former Defense Secretary and IGP Were arrested by Criminal Investigations Department (CID)  over murder charges and later remanded after producing before the court .However as there's no evidence to prove charges against them Colombo Chief Magistrate Has ordered  to release them on bail .

As the two suspects are being treated at Colombo National Hospital and Police Hospital in Narahenpita  ,Chief Magistrate advised the Court registrar to visit the suspects and signed their bail applications.

The two suspects are  being ordered to give a statement to the Criminal Investigations Department  (CID)after getting well. 

Polce Fired Tear Gas And Water Cannons To Disperse A Inter University Students Federation Protest In Colombo

Police have fired tear gas and water

cannons to disperse a group of University student protesters attached to Inter Universiry Students Federation who had attempted to march towards Prime Minsters official residence  "Temple Trees"this evening (09)demanding to abolish Batticaloa Campus Private Limited.

The protesters who began the protest march from Jayawardanapura University in Nugegoda this noon had arrived in Colpetty through the Highlevel road amidst heavy showers it has been reported .

Protesters had stopped the March for around one hour at Wijerama Road due to the heavy showers and later arrived in Colpetty junction amidst rain .Then when the student protesters had attempted to  march towards Temple Trees by breaking Police barricades Riot Police Fired tear gas and water cannons towards the protesters. A heated argument was erupted between a group of protesters and riot Police at that time  as well.

However after holding a rally at the Colpetty junctions, protesters had left the junction .During the protest march a heavy traffic had  prevailed in along Highlevel road upto the Colpetty junction according to reports .
