Jayaratne has today (09)ordered to release former Defense Secretary HemasirI Fernando and Inspector General Of Police (IGP ) Pujith Jayasundara who is under compulsory leave arrested and remanded over Easter Sunday attacks, on two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each.
The former Defense Secretary and IGP Were arrested by Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over murder charges and later remanded after producing before the court .However as there's no evidence to prove charges against them Colombo Chief Magistrate Has ordered to release them on bail .
As the two suspects are being treated at Colombo National Hospital and Police Hospital in Narahenpita ,Chief Magistrate advised the Court registrar to visit the suspects and signed their bail applications.
The two suspects are being ordered to give a statement to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)after getting well.
