Members Of Seven Railway Trade Unions Which Are On Strike Returns To Work-Railway Department To Operate 40 Train Journeys

Related imageAs the Train Workers attached to seven striking Railway Unions have been reported to work today(12) the Sri Lanka Railway Department has planned to operate 40 Train journeys during today according to the Department.

These Journeys are being operated in convenience of the students who sat for the O/Level examination today the Department ha stated.

Meanwhile the Railway Department has issued letters of vacating posts to the leaders of the Railway  Workers Trade Unions as they were not able to stop the on going strike within yesterday (11) and requested their members to report to work according to the Unions.However these letters were not accepted by the Trade Union leaders it has been reported.

The Train Workers Strike has been continued today as well causing severe difficulties to the commuters.

Ministry Of Health To Open Theaters Of Government Hospitals After 4 P.M To Reduce The Waiting Lists For Surgeries

Ministry Of Health will be implemented a programme to perform surgeries in Government Hospitals after 4 p.m in view of reducing the number of patient queues currently there in those hospitals for surgeries according to the Ministry of Health.

At present Routine surgeries in Government Hospitals performs daily until 4 p.m as most of the Surgeons are doing private practice in Private Hospitals after 4 p/m.

Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has too stated recently that to reduce the Patient queues in Eye Surgery lists of  Government Hospitals ,Ministry Of Health has planned to implement a programme to perform Eye Surgeries in Hospitals after 4 p/m and Eye Surgeries will be performed in Kotte.Sri Jayawardenapura and Malabe Neville Fernando Hospitals with the participation of retired Ophthalmologists.

Ministry Of Health To Double The Number Of Oncologists In The Country

Image result for oncologistThe Ministry Of Health ,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine is considering to double the number of Oncologists practicing in local Hospitals due to the rising number of Cancer patients in the country .

Addressing the Annual Sessions of the Sri Lanka Collage Of  Oncologists held in Colombo Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has stated that the doubling the number of Oncologists in the Country which is more than 50 at present is a timely need .

Around 20,000 new Cancer patients have been diagnosed every year he has stressed.Government has removed the Rs.1.5 million limit  imposed on when spending money for the treatment of a Cancer patient the Minister has further said.

Eight Suspects Arrested Over The Killing Of Tusker "Galgamuwe Dalaputtuwa" Have Been Re Remanded Until 25th

Image result for galgamuwe dalaputtuwaThe eight suspects arrested and remanded over the killing of  Tusker "Galgamuwe Dalaputtuwa" have been remanded further until 25th of December by the Mahawa Magistrate Court today(12) after the suspects had been produced before the court.

Mahawa Magistrate had also ordered the officials to submit a report of their findings regarding the examination of Tusks of the deceased Tusker 

The Tusks of the famous Tusker "Galgamuwe Dalaputtuwa" were recovered  from Polpithigama area . The Tusks have used to make pendents it has been revealed.

Day To Day Activities Have Been Disrupted In Central Hill Areas Due To Heavy Showers

Day to day activities including Transport services are being disrupted due to the heavy showers and heavy Mist prevailing in western part of the Central Hills since this morning(12)according to the reports.

Due to the continuous heavy showers and Mist transport activities of Watawala to Kithulgala area on Hatton-Colombo  main road have been disrupted .However students who are sitting for G.C.E O.Level examination had arrived  the Examination Centers to face the Exam  amidst difficulties it has been reported.
