Members Of Seven Railway Trade Unions Which Are On Strike Returns To Work-Railway Department To Operate 40 Train Journeys

As the Train Workers attached to seven striking Railway Unions have been reported to work today(12) the Sri Lanka Railway Department has planned to operate 40 Train journeys during today according to the Department.

These Journeys are being operated in convenience of the students who sat for the O/Level examination today the Department ha stated.

Meanwhile the Railway Department has issued letters of vacating posts to the leaders of the Railway  Workers Trade Unions as they were not able to stop the on going strike within yesterday (11) and requested their members to report to work according to the Unions.However these letters were not accepted by the Trade Union leaders it has been reported.

The Train Workers Strike has been continued today as well causing severe difficulties to the commuters.
