Prime Minister Wikramasinghe Has Said He Is Ready To Appear Before Bonds Commission To Make Any Clarification

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has stated that he is ready to appear before the Presidential Commission Of Inquiry conducting inquiry on the controversial Bond scam of Central Bank for any clarification regarding the Bond scam if the Commission wants.

As persons given evidence before the Commission including former Central Bank governor Arjuna Mahendran has mentioned Prime Minister Wikramasinghe's name ,he has no objection what so ever in appearing before the Commission Prime Minister's office has announced.

The good governance government came to power on 08th of January 2015 will be always committed to protect democracy and good governance ,the statement issued by the PM's office by quoting PM has said.

Transport Activities Of Nivithigala-Kalawana Road Has Been Blocked Due To A Landslide

Transport activities have been disrupted in Pinkenda area on Nivithigala-Kalawana road (Ratnapura)due to a landslide occurred on this morning(16) in the area.

Due to the landslide whole road has been blocked since 5 a.m this morning and Police have advised the motorists to use an alternative routes due to this.No casualties have been reported due to the incident.

National Building Research Organization  (NBRO) had issued landslide warnings to six districts including Ratnapura yesterday(15) due to the heavy showers prevailing in.

Two Persons Arrested With A Stock Of Wallapatta At Airport

Airport customs officers have arrested two persons

who attempted to smuggle 15 Kilo grammes of expensive "Wallapatta"(Gyrinops Walla)out of the country at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport last morning (15).

Along with the stock of Wallapatta,around 158 mobile phones too arrested in possession of the suspects.

The suspects have arrived in the country from Dubai and attempted to smuggle the stock of Wallapatta concealed in a cardboard box out of the country it has been revealed.The value of the stock of wallapatta arrested is around Rs.2.7 million according to the customs officers.

achieved "Arahath"a status which only the Lord Buddha and few Buddhist monks had achieved in Buddhism , has today (15) apologized to the chief prelates of Malwathu and Asgiriya chapters regarding the statements he made against  Dalada Maligawa in Kandy and Malwathu temple.

Siridhamma thero who himself named as "Samanthbadra"had worshipped and apologized to the chief prelates of Malwathu and Asgiriya chapters at their temples in Kandy it has been reported.

Siridhamma thero is a controversial figure here who has been severely criticized by various sectors of the society over celebrating his birthday annually in his temple in Colombo with participation of high class people in the society and cutting birthday cake which is not a tradition seen among Buddhist monks.
