No Population Growth In Colombo During Recent Years-The Population Of Stray Dogs And Cows Have Been Increased-Minister Ranawake

The Minister Of Mega Police and Western Provincial Development Patali Champika Ranwake has today(12) said during the recent years the Population in Colombo has not been increased ,however the number of Stray Dogs and Cows reside in Streets of Colombo has been increased significantly.

There are around 16,000 Stray Dogs and 2000 Cows reside in Streets Of Colombo at present the Minister Ranawake has said.Although cows are there ,there's not a single  paddy field is seen in Colombo he has stressed.

Around 4000 Stray Dogs are living  near the Garbage Dump Site in Meethotamulle . Minister Ranwaka has stressed.

Bribery Commission Officials Have Arrested An Owner Of A Driver Training School While Accepting A Bribe

The officials attached to the Bribery Commission have today(12) arrested an owner of a Driver Training School at Kotahena(In Colombo) while accepting Rs.5000 as a bribe to get  a Driving License for a person.

The arrested owner of the Driver Training School has requested the bribe to offer it to the officer attached to the Motor Traffic Department who is conducting practical driving tests it has been reported.

Per the complaint received to the  Bribery Commission Officials  the suspect  has been  arrested  near the office of Motor Traffic Commissioner at Werahera while accepting the bribe from  complainant.

The suspect is due to be produced before the Colombo Magistrate Court.

Colombo High Court Has Released Former Justice Sarath De Abrew On Bail Regarding A Case On Assaulting A Domestic Worker

Image result for court orderThe Colombo High Court has today(12) has released the former Justice Sarath De Abrew on bail regarding a  case in which he is charged with an alleged  assault of a Domestic Worker.

The Former Justice has been released on a Cash Bail of Rs.100,000 and Two Personal Bails of Rs.100,000 each.


The Colombo High Court has yesterday(11) rejected a petition filed by Former Justice Abrew claiming the charge sheet filed against him by the Attorney General regarding the assaulting of a domestic worker on 26th of June last year was illegal .

Bakery Owners Association Has Now Decided To Increase The Price Of Bread From Tomorrow(13).

Image result for breadFew hours after assuring the Bakery Products will not be increased ,The Bakery Owners Association has now says the price of a Loaf Of Bread weighing 450 Grammes  will be increased by Rs.1 with effect from midnight tomorrow(13).

Accordingly the new price of a Loaf Of Bread after midnight tomorrow will be Rs.55 the Bakery Owners Association has said.

The Bakery Owners Association is due to conduct an urgent meeting tomorrow to discuss their decision of increasing the price of a loaf of bread.

Meanwhile the Consumer Affairs Authority has said as Bread is not declared as an essential item the authority cannot control the price of bread.
