Bail Was Rejected For 14 Suspects Of Golden Key Freud Case

Mount Lavinia Magistrate today rejected the Bail for the Sri Lankan Business Tycoon and owner of the Ceylinco Group Lalith Kotalawala and 13 other Suspects of the Golden Key Deposits Freud when the Case was taken up for hearing to day.

Total Number Of Swine Flu Patients In Sri Lanka Increased To Four

The total number of Sri lankan Swine Flu Patients are increased to Four this evening after another Two were confirmed as suffering from the Flu after getting tested.These new patients aged Two and half years and Seven Years are the relatives of the first Two patients that are reported earlier and they were all came to Sri Lanka from Australia on last Sunday.

Their Conditions are not serious according to the Director of the Fever Hospital Dr.Aruna Senanayake.

All four Swine Flu Patients are now admitted to the IDH Fever Hospital for treatment and blood samples of another Three relatives of these patients are testing for Swine Flu at the Medical Research Institute in Colombo.

Meanwhile Sri Lankan Ministry of health decided to make guidelines on Swine Flu on Treating the Patients and how to handle the people who are in closely touch with the Swine Flu Patients with help of World Health Organization.

Second Sri Lankan Swine Flu Patient Too Detected

The Second Swine Flu Patient was reported from Sri Lanka yesterday and he is identified as the Cousin Brother of the First Swine Flu Patient reported here two days ago.They along with their Parents arrived Colombo from Australia via Singapore on last Sunday to attend a Wedding Party in Colombo.
Both the Patients aged Eight and Six respectively are in quarntine and receiving treatment at the IDH Fever Hospital in Colombo Suburbs.

Meanwhile the Parents of the First Patient found as negative to Swine Flu when their Blood Samples were tested according to the Ministry of Health.Ministry also ordered the Health Officers around the Country to be watchful whether the Other passengers who were aboard the Same Singapore Air Lines Flight along with the two patients,whether they are developing any Swine Flu Symptoms.Health Officials are also observing the remaining group of relatives who arrived Sri Lanka from Australia along with the two patients on their flu status.
Around Nine Sri Lankan Family members were in this Group according to the Health Ministry.
Earler it has been revealed that 94 Passengers out of the 187 Passengers in the Flight left the Katunayaka International Air Port in Colombo without handingover the Declaration Form on their Health Status to the Authorities.Now Health Ministry has ordered the health staff at the Air Port to not allowing any passenger to leave the Air Port without handing over the filled Declaration Form to the Authorities.
If there are any Passenger that refused to Handing over the Form they should refer to the Air Port Health Office for a Medical Test Ministry urged.

Sri Lankan Cricket Team Qualified For The Twenty -Twenty Cricket Semis

Sri Lankan Cricket Team qualified for the Semi Finals of the International Twenty-Twenty Cricket Tournament played in United Kingdom this evening.Having won the toss and elected to bat first Sri Lanka scored 158 runs from the loss of 5 Wickets in their alotted Twenty Overs with an opener T.Dilshan top scored with 48 runs
.

While chasing 159 runs for the victory New Zeelanders were all out for 110 runs.

Maharagama Cancer Hospital Nursing Staff Stop Performing Chemo Therapy For Cancer Patients

Nursing Staff of the Only Cancer Hospital of Sri Lanka in Maharagama stop performing Chemo Therapy for the Cancer Patients since yesterday as a protest against undermining their Professional Demands causing the Lives of the Patients in Danger.

According to Cancer Hospital Sources more than 500 Indoor and Outdoor Cancer Patients who are receiving Chemo Therapy often undergoing severe hardship due to this trade union action.

Cancer Hospital Nursing Staff who are in charge of performing Chemo Therapy for the Cancer Patients demanding a Safe Equipment for the Nursing Staff for their own safety,An Internationally Recognized Nursing Training Programme on Chemo Therapy and Ten Thousend Rupee Risk Allowance.Cancer Nursing Staff stop performing Chemo Therapy two occasions in last year also.

First Swine Flu Case Detected In Sri Lanka

The first Swine Flu(H1N1) case of Sri Lanka was reported today as an Eight Year old Sri Lankan boy based in Australia detected as suffering from the Flu on his arrival at the Katunayaka International Air Port in Colombo this evening.The Boy who was accompanied by his Parents arrived Sri Lanka for a vacation on a Singapore via Flight Health Ministry said.

Swine Flu affected Boy was transferred Immediately to the Fever Hospital in Angoda-Colombo for further treatment and his parents too were undergoing tests to find out whether they too are suffering from the Swine Flu.

At a special Press Briefing held today at the Health Ministry Auditorium Ministry officials appealed to the People aware on the Swine Flu as it spreads quickly among the Community.
