Legal Cases Have Been Filed Against 521 Holders Of Premises In Western Province Which Maintaining Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places -Health Ministry

Image result for dengue mosquito bite timeDuring the three day Special Dengue Mosquito Control Programme launched in Western Province from Last Monday(21) to Wednesday (23) Notices have been issued to 3066 holders of premises in the province which having Risky Environment on breeding dengue mosquitoes and legal cases filed against 521 holders of premises which  maintaining dengue mosquito breeding places  according to Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine.

This special Dengue Mosquito Control Programme has been launched in Western Province as the majority of Dengue Patients reporting in the country are from that Province.




A Heavy Traffic At Godagama Interchange Exit Of Southern Expressway Has Created A Long Queue

As a large number of Motorists are being  using the Southern Expressway to travel down south (Southern Sri Lanka) during this Holiday Season a heavy traffic had prevailed for few hours this morning at the Godagama Interchange  Exit of  Southern Expressway.

As a result a large queue has been seen at the Godagama Interchange Exit of  Southern Expressway and the Police have advised  motorists to use Pinnaduwa and Kokmaduwa Exits  to avoid traffic.

The unemployment rate of Sri Lanka in third term of this year was 5% according to the Department Of Census And Statistics.

According to the Workforce Survey the Economically Active Population among the Sri Lankan Population in third term of this year was 09 million and 64.5% of them were males.

Out of the total workforce in Sri Lanka 67% reported as working more than 40 hours per week according to the survey.

Sri lanka Is Hoping It's Fish Export Ban To European Market Will Be Lifted By Mid Next Year-Fisheries Minister

Sri Lanka is hoping it's  Fish Export ban to European Market imposed By European Parliament will be lifted by mid Next Year  according to the Foreign Media Reports.

The Fisheries Minister Mahinda Amaraweere has told the Chinese News Agency XINHUA recently a proposal to lifting the fish  export ban imposed for sri lanka is due to be presented to the European Parliament during coming months.

Sri Lanka  is loosing over 100 million US Dollars per year due to the Fish Export Ban imposed for Sri Lanka by the European Parliament during the previous government the Minister has stated.

Fourteen Categories Of State Executive Grade Officers Have Decided To Launch Countrywide Continuous Strike After 04th Of January

Image result for general strikeFourteen Categories of State Executive Grade Officers  including Government Doctors ,Engineers ,Administrative Officers ,Ayurveda Doctors and Surveyors have decided to launch an island wide continuous strike after 04th of January by demanding three Service demands according to Joint Committee Of Executive Officers In All Island Services.

The Committee has demanded the government to correct the salary anomaly of the state service
created through the 2016 Annual Budget,Stop scrapping the Government Pension Scheme and Granted the Duty Concessionary Vehicle Permit for the State Officers .

If the government not able to meet these demands by 04th of January the state executive grade officers will launch an island wide continuous strike action without a prior notice the President of the Joint Committee Of Executive Grade Officers In All Island Services Dr.Nimal Karunasene has said during a press briefing held in Colombo yesterday(23).

Three Out Of Four Persons Who Visited A State Bank To Rob It Arrested By The Police

Image result for bank robberyThree out of the  four persons  who visited a State Bank in Bandarawatte at Biyagama(In Western Province) yesterday (23) to rob it have been arrested by Police.The fourth person has managed to escape by jumping to the Kelaniya River according to the Police.


The attempt of the robbers to rob the bank has prevented as the Police were alerted on the robbery   due to the Bank's  security alarm system being triggered.

The 45 year old Sri Lankan Mother from Colombo Suburbs has been sentenced  stone to death over an adultery charge in last August.After she was found guilty for the charge has been scheduled  stoning to Death .

The Male who got  involved with the Sri Lankan House Maid has been  sentenced to 100 lashes.

The Ministry Of Foreign Employment has hired top lawyers to make an appeal against stoning to death sentence of the  female.

The suspect a 42 Year old male from Borella(In Colombo) has been arrested by Custom Officers at his Arrival at the Airport Lounge.The Suspect has concealed the Gold Slabs inside his rectum.

President Sirisene To Make A Special Speech In Parliament On 09th Of January

President Maithripala Sirisene to make a special speech in Parliament on 09th of January next year regarding of converting the Parliament to a Constituent Assembly to create 03rd Republican Constitution.

Minister of Parliament Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake has yesterday(22) informed Media Heads and Officials on this.The Minister has also said President Sirisene will deliver a special lecture on creating 3rd Republican Constitution at BMICH in Colombo on 08th of January.

These events will be held to mark the one year since the inauguration of President Sirisene in his post.

Bribery Commission Officials Have Arrested A Technical Officer While Accepting a Bribe

Image result for accepting a bribeThe Bribery Commission Officials have today(22) arrested a Technical Officer Attached to Yakkalamulle(In Sothern Province) Divisional Secretariat  while accepting Rs.15,000 as a bribe.

According to the Bribery Commission the suspect has been arrested while accepting the bribe from a Contractor who is carrying out Road Repairs in the area for the  issue of  a report to him.

The suspect is due to be produced before Galle Magistrate Court.

Ministry Of Health To Name National Cancer Institute In Maharagama As "Apesksha(Expectation) Hospital"

The Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine has decided to name the National Cancer Institute(Cancer Hospital) in Maharagama (In Colombo)as "Apeksha (Expectation) Hospital" with effect from 01st of January 2016 in view of changing mental condition of Cancer Patients.

Mahragama,National Cancer Institute is the only state owned Cancer Hospital in the country which provides Treatment and Medicine free of charge for Cancer Patients.

The Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has instructed the Health Ministry Officials to provide necessary  resources for the National Cancer Institute with immediate effect.
