The Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine has decided to name the National Cancer Institute(Cancer Hospital) in Maharagama (In Colombo)as "Apeksha (Expectation) Hospital" with effect from 01st of January 2016 in view of changing mental condition of Cancer Patients.Mahragama,National Cancer Institute is the only state owned Cancer Hospital in the country which provides Treatment and Medicine free of charge for Cancer Patients.
The Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has instructed the Health Ministry Officials to provide necessary resources for the National Cancer Institute with immediate effect.
