Around 35 Passengers Were Injured Due To A Private Bus-Lorry Collision Occurred At Dambulla

Image result for accident graphicAround 35 Passengers were injured this morning due to a Private Bus-Lorry Collision occurred at Inamaluwa Area at Dambulla(In Central Province) according to the Police.

Around 25 passengers out of the injured passengers  have been admitted to Dambulla Hospital for treatment .

According to the Sigiriya Police this accident had occurred when a Private Bus travelling from Polonnaruwa to Colombo had crashed in to the back of a Cement Lorry travelling to Colombo early this morning.

The Sigiriya Police are conducting  investigations on the accident.

UNAIDS Office In Colombo To Commemorate World Aids Day-2015 In Different Style

The UNAIDS(United Nations Aids Programme ) Office in Colombo in collaboration with Beetle Car  Owners Club Of Sri Lanka are planning to commemorate this year's World AIDS Day on 01st Of December  with an estimated two hour drive starting from Independence Square and ending up at Galle Face Grounds in Colombo by displaying messages on HIV/AIDS in front of Beetle Cars to make awareness amongst public on the disease.

Around 50 Beetle Cars courtesy of the Beetle Club Members will be participating the drive according to UNAIDS Office in Colombo.

The aim of this drive is to strengthening the National HIV Response by educating the Public on the importance of main theme of this years World Aids Day -"Test Today" according to Country Manager of the UNAIDS Office in Sri Lanka Dr.Dayanath Ranathunge.

President Maithripala Sirisene had yesterday (23) appointed the National List MP of United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) Dr.Sarath Amunugama as the Minister Of Special Assignments.MP Amunugama had sworn in on his Ministerial Portfolio before the President yesterday.

Two Persons Died And Thirty Three Were Injured Due To A CTB Bus-Tipper Truck Collision

Image result for accident in wordTwo Persons were killed and thirty three were injured due to a CTB Bus -Tipper Truck Collision occurred at Sirambiadiya Area on  Puttalam-Anuradhapura (In North Central Province) main road this morning according to the Police.

The injured persons have been admitted to the Puttalam Hospital and several of them are said to be in critical condition.

The CTB Bus was travelling From Mulathivu to Colombo when it collided with a rear of the Tipper Truck which was travelling ahead.

The Former Suspect Of Five Year Old Girl's Rape And Murder "Kondaya" Has Been Released On Bail

Image result for court orderThe suspect whom Police have declared earlier as the murderer of five year old Seya Sadewmini of Kotadeniyawa Area ,Dunesh Priyashantha alias "Kondaya" has been released on bail today (23) by the Gampaha Magistrate Court after his mother has signed for his bail.

Although "Kondaya" was found not guilty for Seya's rape and murder case he has been in remand as no one came  forward to sign the bail for him it has been reported.

However after Kondaya's Mother has today signed the bail for him Gampaha Magistrate had released him on two personal bails of Rs.50,000 each.

CID Had Arrested UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansha Over Using An Invalid Passport To Fly To Europe-Later He Has Been Released On Bail

Image result for mp wimal weerawansaUnited Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) MP Wimal Weerawansha had been arrested by Criminal Investigation Department(CID) this morning  over trying to use  an invalid passport to fly Europe  and later has been  released after being  produced before Negambo Magistrate Court.

MP Weerrawansha has been released on a cash bail of Rs.10,000 and two personal bails of Rs.100,000 each by Negambo Magistrate.

According to the MP  he was preparing  to leave to Europe  following an invitations received by him and on  arrival at the Air Port early morning today he realized the passport he has carried was the one he had lost and found later after obtaining  a new passport.When the Air Port Authorities have asked MP to return with the new passport,he has done so and on the arrival to the Air Port the CID Officers present there wanted to question over the using of an invalid passport.

Meanwhile according to the Air Port Authorities using an invalid passport to fly abroad is a crime and an inquiry will be carried out to identify whether the MP had made a mistake regarding the incident.

The new chairman and members of the National Police Commission have been appointed yesterday(21).The National Police Commission has been established under the 19th Amendment with effect from 14th Of October 2015 and the powers of appointments,transfers,Promotions ,control of discipline and dismissal of  all rank police officers  except Inspector General Of Police  have been vested with the Commission.

Excise Department Have Arrested Two Suspects In Possession Of 30 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

The Excise Department Crimes Division Officers have today (22)  arrested Two persons in  possession of 30 Kilo Grammes Of Narcotic "Kerala Cannabis(Ganja)" worth around Rs.6 million at Kodikaman Area in Jaffna District(In Northern Province).

The Excise Department Officials have raided a a place in Kodikaman Area where they have arrested the two suspects along with a stock of "Kerala Cannabis".

The initial inquiries held in this regard have been revealed that the suspects have been imported Kerala Cannabis from Rameshwaram in India through the sea route and hidden at a place at Velvitithurai in Northern Province.

The two arrested suspects have been remanded until 04th of November by Chavakachcheri Magistrate Court after they have been produced before the court today(22).
