Four Paratroopers Injured During Indeoendence Day Rehearsals
Four paratroopers were injured and hospitalized after falling to the grounds due to a mid air collision occurred during a independence day parachute rehearsal held at Galle face green in Colombo yesterday (30).

Although Maligakanda Magistrate and Colombo Fort Magistrate Courts issued a,series of Court orders against SJB and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and the organizers of the protest march prohibiting blocking roads and entering several roads in Colombo fort ,Protesters held the protest march as planned.
The Protesters had demanded an early election and freedom of speech from the government.Amidst Firing Of Tear gas and water cannons protesters were continued teir protest march and held a rally aftetwards .
Due to firing tear gas towards the proresters five persons imcluding SJB MP Mujibur Rehman had been admitted to Colombo National Hospital it has been reported.Meanwhile several tear gas cannisters fired towards protesters had fallen into the Public library premises in Colombo as well causing tense situation among children and adults inside the library it has been reported.

Sri Lanka Navy Rescued A Sri Lankan Fishing Boat Captured By Somalie Pirates
Sri Lanka Navy with the help of Joint Ocean force and The Forces of Seychelles islands had rescued the Six fishermen anf their multiple Fishing trawler "Lorenzo Putha 4" captured by Somalie sea pirates unharmed yesterday (29) according to the Navy.
Sri Lanka Navy and Joint forces had also arrested three Somalie Sea pirates in the Somalie ship which captured the Sri Lankan boat during the rrescue mission carried out around 230 nautical miles north east of Seychelles islands on last Sunday and Monday it has been revealed.
Two Planes and the Ship "Topaz"owned by Seychelles had assisted the rescue mission of Sri Lankan Boat with six fishermen and the rescued boat along with fishermen was moved to the waters of Seychelles capital victoria yesterday(29) the Navy had stated.
Thirty Shops Destroyed Due To A,Fire In Mawanella
Nearly 30 Shops at Mawanella area had been completely destroyed due to a huge fire erupted in a,shop located behind the Mawanella Bus Stand last sunday according to sources.

Austrian National Was Killed Due To Van-Lorry Collision
A 37 year old Austrian National was killed and his mother was critically injured and hospitalized after the luxury Van they were travelling in colliding with a Lorry parked on the road at Kelawarapitiya area in Kadawatha(Colombo) yesterday(26).
The Injured mother of the deceased had been admitted to the Ragama Teaching Hospital for treatment.The deceased and his mother faced this incident whilst on their way to the Katunayake International Airport from the tourist hotel in Hikkaduwa where they have stayed in it has been reported.

A Group Of Inmates Escaped From Kandakadu Center -17 Were Arrested
A group of inmates at Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center at Welikande area in Polonnaruwa District had escaped from the Center last night (24).and the Police have arrested 17 of them near the Sungavila bridge it has been reported.

Eight Cattle And Female Were Killed Due To A Bus Accident
Eight Cattle and a female passanger were killed and eight were seriously injured when a Sri Lanka Transport Board(SLTB) passanger Bus collided with a Passanger van after knocking down a herd of Cattle lying down on the road at Umayalpuram in Kilinochchi District on the Kandy -Jaffna A09 highway yesterday morning(24).
The Bus driver lost the control of the high speed bus and as a result the bus knocked down a herd of Cattle lying on the road and Then collided with a van on its,way from Katunayake International Airport .The injured were adnitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Kilinochchi General Hospital.
Kilinochchi Police had arrested the Bus driver regarding the incident and investigating further on the incident.

The controversial Online safety bill which proposed to regulate Social Media networks and to ensure the safety of online activities had been passed in Parliament with majority of 46 votes yesterday (24).

Puttalam District MP and State Minister Sanath Nishantha and his security officer were killed due to Motor car accident occurred at Katunayake -Colombo Express Highway in wee hours of this Morning (25).
State Minister Nishantha who was 48 years old at the time of his death along with his security officer and the driver had been admitted to the Ragama Teaching hospital in serious condition ,But the Minister and his security officer haf succumbed to their injuries on admission it has been reported.
The incident occurred when te luxary vehicle of the Srate Minister Nishantha had attempted to over take a container truck travelling in the same direction and as a result the vehicle had collided with the rear part of the truck and with the security fence of the Express highway acccording to reports.

Supreme Court Qashed The Presidential Pardon Granted To Ex MP Duminda Silva
The Supreme Court had qashed the Special Presidential Pardon granted to former Parliamentarian Duminda Silva by ex president Gotabaya Rajapakshe on Wednesday(17).
The Court directed the Commissioner of Prisons to implement the Conviction and Sentence against former Parliamentarian Silva who had recieved the life time imprisonment in 2016 over the killing of former MP Bharatha Lakshman Premachandre.Ex President Gotabaya Rajapakshr had granted special presidential Pardon to Duminda Silva on June 2021.

A driver of a Lorry was killed due to misfired gunshot of a Police officer at Narammala area yesterday (18) according to the Police.The incident occurred whilst chasing after the Lorry which was driven by the driver without considering police orders to stop the vehicle it has been revealed.

Health Sector Strike Crippled The Hospital Services
The 24 hour long islandwide strike launched by the 72 Health Trade Unions in the country since last morning (16) crippled the patient care services of Government hospitals including Outdoor patient department Pharmacies and X ray department services
The strike was launched by the 72 Health trade unions representing Professions Supplementary to the Medicine(PSM) and para medical service personal.The strike was launched demanding the Rs.35,000 DAT allowance given to doctors for other health personal .The strike has ended this Morning.
Meanwhile a section of Gocernment nurses had launched a strike action today (17) demanding the same allowance .
