The controversial Online safety bill which proposed to regulate Social Media networks and to ensure the safety of online activities had been passed in Parliament with majority of 46 votes yesterday (24).
At the vote 108 voted in favor of the bill and 46 voted against it .MP's representing Samagi Janabalawegaya ,Jathika Janabalawegaya ,Tamil Natonal Alliance (TNA) and Nidahas Janatha sabawa were voted against the Bill.Government MP and former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe had voted against the.bill.
