Power plants in the Island have water sufficient to generate electricity only for 35 days according to the Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB).
A capacity of 284 Megawatt hours of Electricity can be produced From the Water in hydrocatchment areas the Board had stated.At present the water level remains in the hydrocatchment areas is 23.2 percent it has been revealed.
CEB is utiizing electricity generated tbrough the Heat ,windmill and Solar power plants to meet the daily demand of Electricity the CEB had stated.
