The proposal submitted to the Parliament by the Current government to remove the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission (PUC)Janaka Ratnsyake from his post had been passed yesterday (24) with a majority of 46 votes .
Accordingly 123 MP's had voted in favor of the proposal whilst 77 had voted against the Proposal.MP 's representing the governing Sri lanka progressive Party(Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna) had voted in favor of the proposal and majority of the opposition had voted against the proposal.
Before the vote a debate on the proposal was held during the day.
