A Warrant Was Issued To Arrest Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendren

The  Three member Judge panel of the Number one Special High Court in Colombo had today (09) issued an arrest warrant  to arrest and produced the chief suspect of the Central Bank Bond Scam issue Former Governor of the Central Bank Arjuna Mahendren before the court .

The Three member Judge Panel had also ordered the authorities to issue the arrest warrant against former Central Bank Governor in English Language .

The arrest warrant was issued accordance to a request made by the Additional  Solicitor General Priyantha Navana who had appeared in the court behalf of the Attorney General Dappula De Livera in an earlier occasion to issue an arrest warrant against Mahendren .

Indictments had filed against the Former Central Bank Governor over incurred a loss of more than Rs.680 billion to the Central Bank from a large scale fraud  when issuing of Treasury Bonds iu 2015 .

When the case taken in to consideration today seven out of ten suspects of the Bond scam had appeared before the court .
