A prison inmate attached to Welikada
prison had been injured and hospitalized as he was shot by Prison officers when attempted to escape from.prison this evening (24).
The injured Prison inmate who was shot at his neck area had been admitted to Welikada Prisons Hospital for treatment .
The prison inmate was shot when he attempted to jump over the prison wall it has been reported .
A prison guard was also injured and admitted to the Colombo National Hospital when a gun shot fired at The prison inmate accidentally hit him according to reports.
