Although there's no festival nearby ,The
cost of living commitee has today (21)announced that the Committe has decided to reduce the prices of few essential commodities in the market including Dried chillies ,Canned fish ,Eggs and chicken for the forthcoming festive season .
Accordingly to reduce the market price of Dried chillies the tax imposed on a kilo gramme of imported dried chillies will be reduced by Rs.20 from Rs
25 to Rs.5 and the tax imposed on imported Canned fish to be reduced by Rs.75 from Rs.100 to Rs.25 the chairman of the Committee Agriculture Minister P.Harrison has stated .
Cost of living committe had also decided to allow traders to import Eggs and Chicken to reduce the market prices of them .
Government has also decided to release 48,000 metric tonnes of Paddy stored in government stores to small and mediun scale paddy mills to convert it to rice and released to the market to sell Rs..85 per A kilo gramne of Samba rice and Rs.80 per a Kilo gramme of Nadu rice it has been announced .
