Former Army Commander General Mahesh Senanayake Was Nominated As A Presidential Candidate

National People's Movement along with a group of Civil organization's had nominated foemer Army Commander General Mahesh Senanayake as the Movement's Presidential Candidate for the forthcoming Presidential Election during a special convention held at Sugathadaasa Indoor Stadium In Colombo this Evening  (29).

Addressing the Special convention of National People's Movement after being nominated ,General Senanayake has stressed that he will appear before the people amidst any death threats made against him .

"There are no corrupt people around me .Only intellectuals are there .Would like to invite intellectuals of the country to join me at this stage  "he has further said .
