The outstation transfers of 25 Prison
Officers including Jailors, Assistant Jailors ,Prison Guards and Sargents attached to Welikada and Colombo Magazine prisons ordered to be implemented by Ministry of Justice and Prison Reforms had been suspended by the Prison Commissioner General Nishan Danasingle with effect from yesterday (22).
The Transfers had been suspended after the talks held between Prison Jailors,Guards and Sargents Union officials and Prison Commissioner General in Colombo it has been revealed. During the talks the Union officials had stated that these Transfer es cannot be justified it has been revealed.

The Union leaders had attempted to meet the Minister Of Justice Thalata Atukorale before meeting the Prison Commissioner's General ,However Ministry officials had informed them to come after 28 th of August for discussions as Minister is due to go abroad tomorrow (24).
