Around 16 Prison Officerst Attached To Welikada And Magazine Prisons To Be Transferred

Around 16 Prison Officerst  attached to Welikada and Colombo Magazine prisons have been transferred with immediate effect as per the recommendations   of Minister Of Justice and Prison Reforms Thalatha Atukorale .

Accordingly the Assistant Prison Superintendent ,Jail Guards ,Chief Jail or and Jailors attached to the two prisons have been transferred due to the charges levelled against them on  corrupt activities it has been revealed.

Meanwhile Justice Minister Thalata Atukorale has today (16)stated that a new Prison Police Unit will be established soon in the Prisons Department.

The new Police Unit will be established due to the dissolvment  of Prisons Intelligence Unit recently she has stressed.
