Silva has today (16)stated that the Island Wide Bus Strike launched by six Private Bus Unions with effect from midnight last night (15) has proved as unsuccessful.
The strike is not implemented in Seven provinces and only few routes in Western and Southern Provinces are being affected due to the strike he has stressed while saying that the newly introduced fine sheet system will not be cancelled at any cost.
Meanwhile The All Ceylon Private Bus Employees Union which leads the strike has stated that the ongoing strike against the new Fine sheet will continue tomorrow (17)as well.
