A Police Team attached to the Tangalle Divisional Crimes Investigations Unit had yesterday (16) arrested the three main suspects who are responsible for gun shooting incident against the Chief Incumbent of the Kataragama Kirivehera Temple Kobawaka Dhamminna Thero at papiliyana area .
The three suspects including the main suspect Asela Bandara who was the former Head of the Mahasen Devalaya of the Kirivehera Temple had fled away after shot and injured the Chief Incumbent and another Buddhist Monk in front of the Kirivehera Temple last Tuesday(12) night.The suspects were hiding in Colombo it has been revealed.
The three suspects are due to be taken to Tangalle for questioning .
A luxurious Motor Vehicle belongs to the main suspect of the gun shooting was taken in to custody by the police while parking it at his house in sella kataragama road ,Kataragama last week.
According to the initial inquries on the incident the gun shooting occurred as a revange as the Chief incumbent Theto of Kirivehera who was injured due to the incident sacked the former head of the Mahasen Devalaya who is the main suspect as he didnt declare the amount of money collected daily in Money till of the devalaya.Around Rs.500,000 is being collected daily but the former head not revealed that to the chief incumbent it has been reported.
The Injured Thero had appointed a new head to the Mahasen Devalaya after sacking the former head .The condition of the Chief Incumbent of Kirivehera Temple who is now receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo is being improved it has been revealed.
