Water Level Of Kalu River Increasing Rapidly Due To Heavy Showers

The Department Of Irrigation has requested the people lives in low land areas near Kalu River to be vigilant over possible floods as the water level of the river is continuously increasing as a result of the heavy showers experienced during last few hours in the area.

Kalu River has already began to overflow in some other areas the Department has stated.

Meanwhile the water level of Kelani River is currently decreasing and some water remains in low land areas like sedawatte had been reversed to the river by the authorities it has been reported.

The Disaster Management Center has requested the persons who are affected due to Adverse Weather and moved to safe places not  to return their houses immediately as still there's a threat of collapsing soil mounds and floods in some areas although the flood waters receded  .
