Nearly 125 ,000 persons lives in 19 Districts have been affected and 12 have died due to the Adverse Weather conditions up to now as a result of Heavy Showers and winds according to the Disaster Management Center(DMC).
Around 43 houses have been completely destroyed and another 3172 Houses have been partially damaged due to the Adverse Weather the Center has stated.
The report issued by the DMC by this morning ,nearly 56,500 persons are being moved to 246 centers temporarily due to the Adverse Weather.
Meanwhile according to the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) five districts namely Kegalle,Ratnapura,Nuwara Eliya,Kalutara and Galle are being issued red notice landslide warnings since last evening (23).The NBRO has also requested the people lives in Badulle,Kurunagala,Gampha and Colombo warnings over possible landslides,collapsing of soil mounds ,rocks and slopes .
