Government has decided to impose a State Of Emergency throughout the Island for a ten day period considering the situation occurred in Kandy yesterday (05)during a special meeting held this morning(06) under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena ,according to the Minister S.B Dissanayake.The Police Curfew imposed in Kandy Administrative Area last evening (05) was lifted at 6 a.m this morning (06) and the Curfew was re imposed in Theldeniya and Pallekale Police divisions in Kandy until further notice it has been announced.According to the Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare Special Police Task Force Personal will be recruited in Pallekale,Digana and Theldeniya areas further .
A special team of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers had sent to Digana area under the instructions of Inspector General Of Police he has stressed.
The tense situation occurred yesterday after a Three Wheeler driver was assaulted and killed by four persons of a community in Kandy .The critically injured person has died while receiving treatment in Kandy Teaching Hospital.
