A Student Arrested And Remanded Over Posting Anti Racial And Hatred Posts In FB Was Further Remanded

A student attached to the Royal Collage in Colombo who was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over posting hatred ,anti religious  and racial posts in Facebook which led to communal violence, and later remanded .had been ordered to remand further until 09th of April by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Chanima Wijebandara today(26).

The suspected student was produced before the Colombo Additional Magistrate today and CID Officials had informed  the Additional Magistrate that the suspect had posted such posts under a fake profile indicating he is Sinhala national although he is a Muslim .

The Magistrate Court had earlier refused to grant bail to the student citing that the Court has no powers to grant bail over the charges leveled against the student.
