Airport Customs Officers had arrested a 42 year old person who had illegally brought around 16,000 foreign made Illegal Cigarette sticks to the country from Singapore yesterday (18) at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport.The illegally brought Cigarette Sticks were concealed inside the luggage of the suspect and the stock is worth around Rs.800,000 according to the customs.
The Customs had confiscated the stock of illegal Cigarette sticks and released the suspect who is a resident of Grandpass area on Rs.50,000 bail it has been reported.
