Due to the low rain fall received during last few hours the water levels of Kalu,Gin and Nilwala rivers which were arisen since last Saturday(14) have been receding at present according to the Disaster Management Center.Although the water levels of these rivers are receding the flood threat might re appear if the rain fall continues the Center has stated.
Meanwhile the Meteorology Department has stated that the rain fall in several areas of the country will be reduced but strong winds will prevails in sea areas.
