Landslide Warnings Issued To The Ratnapura And Matara Districts Due To Heavy Showers
National Building Research Organization(NBRO) has
issued landslide warnings to Ratnapura and Matara districts due to the heavy showers prevailed in those districts during last 24 hour period.
These districts have experienced Over 100 mili meter rain during last 24 hours it has been revealed.People in Ratnapura and Matara advised to be in Vigilant over landslides,tree/rock falls,sand mount collapses that might occurred due to the heavy showers NBRO has stated.

Number Of Tourists Entering The Wilpaththu Wild National Park To Be Restricted From Tomorrow(01)
Due to the Drought experienced at present the authorities have decided to limit the number of Tourists entering the Wilpaththu Wid National Park from 01st of August .Accordingly limited number of Tourists will be allowed to enter the Park from 6.00 a.m to 11.30 a/m .
Earlier the Authorities have decided to closed down the Park completely ,However after consultation with the Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife Gamini Jayawikrama Perera ,The wild life Conservation Department has decide to limit the number of tourists entering the Park.

Security Has Tightened In Several Areas Of Jaffna Following The Assaulting Of Two Constables
Security has been tightened in several areas in Jaffna following the assaulting of Two Police constables with sharp objects by an unidentified group of persons arrived in from Motorcycles yesterday(30) at Kondavil area in Kopai,Jaffna.
The two Constables have been injured due to the assault and admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Police Department has deployed four Police Teams to investigate on the assault it has been reported.

A Five Day Anti SAITM Protest March Begun From Peradeniya
A five day Anti SAITM Protest March organized by the Anti SAITM Students Public Campaign has started at the Peradeniya University premises at 10 a.m this morning(31) and heading towards Colombo according to the organizers.
University Students attached to the Inter University Students Federation ,Medical Students ,Teachers ,Artists ,Trade Union activists and Parents of the University/Medical Students are being participating the Protest March and it will reach the first destination Mawanalle Town by 6 p.m today(31).
The Protest march will be reached in Colombo in five days time.

A Person Was Killed And Another Injured Due To A Three Wheeler-Lorry Collision
A person was killed and another person has been injured and hospitalized after the three wheeler they have been traveling in toppled over the road and colliding with a parked lorry on Madurankuliya-Koththanthivu road.
The injured had been admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital for treatment.
The deceased was the 19 year old three wheeler driver residing in Kajuwatte area and he and the injured were under the influence of Toddy when traveling in the three wheeler it has been reported.The high speed three wheeler toppled over the road and colliding with a parked lorry in front of the road Mundalama Police have stated.

A Person Was Arrested With A Stock Of Kerala Cannabis
Police have arrested a person with two Kilo Grammes
and Two Hundrad fifty Grammes of Kerala Cannabis inside a Motor Car near Shanthi Vihar in Kesbawa area.
The stock of Kerala Cannabis hidden in the backside of the Car according to the Police.As per the information received from the 41 year old suspect, Police have recovered Thirteen Kilo Grammes and Five hundrad grammes of Kerala Cannabis inside his house in Kahathuduwa area.

Sri Lanka To Provide Leadership To The Proposed SAARC Medical University
Sri Lanka is ready to provide complete leadership to
the proposed SAARC (South Asian Association For Regional Countries)Medical University due to be established in SAARC region according to the Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
Minister has revealed on this during the SAARC Health Minister's Summit inaugurated in Mount Lavinia Hotel yesterday (29).
Health Ministers of the SAARC Countries had discussed on several health issues faced by the regional countries during yesterday's sessions.
Colombo Declaration which included the facts related to the Health Issues of the regional countries had been adapted at the end of the summit.

Accordingly the water cut has been imposed in Kelaniya,Wattala,Mahara,Paliyagoda,Biyagama,Dekatana,Namaluwa,Weliweriya,Rathupaswala,Ihala yagoda and Pahala Yagoda areas.

Around 150 Houses Submerged Due To The Heavy Showers In Kandy
Due to the heavy showers prevailing in Kandy District
since this morning (29) around 150 houses in the District have been submerged and damaged as a result of overflowing Mada Ela it has been reported.
The submerged houses are located in many areas in Kandy including Heerassagala and William Gopallawa road .
Due to the continuous rain prevailing in Kandy and Central hill areas at present ,The Disaster Management Center has advised public living in hill areas to be vigilant on Landslides.

Hambanthota ,Magampura Harbour to the Chinese Company "China Merchant Ports Holding Private Company" was signed this morning (29) amidst protests of some trade unions run by opposition groups at the Ministry Of Ports and Shipping .
The agreement was signed after Cabinet approval.Secretary to the Ministry of Ports and Shipping L.P.Jayampathy and Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority Parakrama Dissanayake had been signed the agreement behalf of the Government and executive vice president of the China Merchant group Dr.Hu Jianghua had signed behalf of the Chinese government.

The suspect who was arrested with 18 Liquor bottles and 48 Liquor Cans had handed over to the Pothuvil Police it has been reported.He is due to be produced before the Pothuvil Magistrate Court on Monday.

An E Health Card To Be Introduced To The Government Hospital Patients
An Electronic Health Card containing the data on
health reports of a patient will be introduced to the Sri Lankan patients arriving Government Hospitals soon according to the Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
A pilot project implemented regarding the E-Health Card system proved as successful and this will be helpful to achieve the target of 01 doctor per 5000 population acccording to the Minister.
The E Health Card system will be implemented with collaboration of Information And Communication Technology Agency ( ICTA )Sri Lanka according to the Ministry of Health.

The Magampura port is due to hand over to the Chinese Company for a period of 99 years under the agreement and the total investment of the project is US Dollars 112 billion.
Meanwhile a protest campaign against the agreement waa held yesterday (28)at Hambanthota organized by All ceylon ports employees association and a similar protest is currently on in front of Khan clock tower in Colombo Fort according to the association.
Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has stated yesterday (28)that the agreement will helpful to reduce the current mount of debt faced by the country and a similar agreement will be signed regarding the Mattala International Airport as well.

Accordingly Judge Prasanna Jayawardane of the Commission had ordered the Perpetual Treasuries to hand over the information of Liquor Manufacturing company W.M Mendis,National Development Bank,the Electronic media company Asia Voice Network ,"Siyatha" Television And Radio Channels and the newly formed media company publish "Janayugaya" newspaper Intergrated media network to the commission.

Kalutara High Court Judge has yesterday(27) sentenced the former OIC of the North Kalutara Police to 19 year rigorous imprisonment over taking an under aged girl from the guardianship of her parents and sexually abused her.

The 54 year old Suspect was heading
to Singapore from Mumbai,India at the time of his arrest.The Customs
Officers have taken into custody Foreign Currencies Swiss Franks,Euros and Norwegian Krones in possession of the suspect.

The Bond Commission or the Presidential Commission of Inquiry has today(28) informed the main suspect of the Central Bank Bond Scam ,the Director of Perpetual Treasuries Limited Arjun Aloysias to provide the username and password of his mobile phone he used since October 2016 to the commission.
