The Airbus and Mercedes Benz car manufacturing companies in Germany have agreed to provide 24 helicopters to airlift patients in an emergency situations during natural disasters and to provide 1050 Ambulances and 240 emergency disaster trucks for an island wide Ambulance service to Sri Lanka during a meeting held between Sri Lankan Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne and representatives of German Banks providing financial support and government officials held in Germany on Wednesday (16).
Accordingly the Benz Company will provide 24 helicopters to Sri Lanka to utilize in airlifting patients and 1050 Ambulances and 240 emergency disaster trucks will be provided by Airbus company the Ministry of Health has stated.
Sri Lankans will be recruited to the staff of Ambulances to be provided and they will receive the necessity training in Germany the Minister has further added.
