The former Deputy Inspector General of Police(DIG) Anura Senanayake and Former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera who were arrested and remanded over the killing of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen have been further remanded until 30th of November by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris today(16).The two former higher rank Police Officers were further remanded after being produced before the Colombo Additional Magistrate today.
Meanwhile Additional Solicitor General Dilan Rathnayake had informed the court during the proceedings of Thajudeen's case that a special investigation is under way regarding the phone calls received by a friend of former Rugby Player few hours prior to Thajudeen's death.
Colombo Additional Magistrate has ordered the Crimes Investigations Division(CID) to conclude the investigation on the killing of Thajudeen as soon as possible.
