Cabinet has approved a proposal to appoint a Cabinet Sub Committee to find the ways for amending the Muslim Marriage -Divorce Act in Sri Lanka it has been revealed during the Cabinet Briefing held today(26).
The Cabinet Proposal was submitted to the Cabinet by Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapakshe.
Government is considering to amend the several sections of Muslim Marriage-Divorce Act including the minimum age limit to marry under the Muslim Law.The proposed Cabinet Sub Committee is due to recommend the Cabinet the suitable amendments should be made for the Muslim Marriage-Divorce Act it has been stated.
