Sri Lanka To Eliminate Rabies And Measles By The Year 2020

Sri Lanka is due to eliminate the communicable  diseases Rabies and Measles by the year  2020 according to the national consultant of World Health Organization (WHO)Dr.Janakan Navarathnasingham .
Addressing the National Media Workshop organized  by the World Health Organization which was held in Colombo recently Dr.Navarathnasingham has stated in the year 2000 around 119 rabies deaths had been reported from the country and in 2015 only 19 rabies deaths had been reported.

The number of measles patients reported during the year is also on the decrease he has stressed.
