Nearly fifty acres of land belonging to number 03 and 04 colonies at Palwatte in Wellawaya area had been destroyed due to a fire according to Wellawaya Police.The Disaster Management Unit based in Monaragala District and the fire brigade in Palwatte are being engaged in dousing the fire this evening it has been reported.
There are no casualties and property damage as a consequence of the fire Police have stated.
Wellawaya Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.
