Health Ministers And Health Officials Of Ten Countries Have Arrived In Sri Lanka For WHO's South And South East Asia Regional Health Ministers Summit

Health  Ministers and health officials belonging to ten South and South East Asian countries had been arrived in Sri Lanka today(04) to attend the World Health Organization's South and South Eastern Asian Health Ministers Summit scheduled to be held in Colombo from 05th (Tomorrow) of September to 09th (Friday)  September.

Accordingly the Health Ministers of India,Bangladesh,Nepal,North Korea ,East Timore,Thailand,Indonesia,Bhutan ,Maldives and Myanmar have arrived in today.

The Director of WHO'S South East Asian Region Dr.Poonam Kethrapal Singh has arrived in the island to participate the summit on last Friday (02) and she was received at the Katunayake International Air Port by the Director General of Health Services Dr.Palitha Mahipala and the WHO Representative in Sri Lanka Dr.Jacob Kumaresan .The Director General Of WHO Dr.Margaret Chan and Deputy Director General Of World Health Organization Dr.Anarffi  Asamoa Baah had also arrived in the island today.

The Health Ministers Summit which will be chaired by Sri Lankan Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senarathne is due to be inaugurated tomorrow morning by Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe and Health Minister at Nelum Pokuna Theater in Colombo.

The sessions of the summit will be held at Galle Face Hotel from tomorrow up to Friday.
