HEALTH TIP- ZIKA VIRUS DISEASE

The most common symptoms of Zika virus disease are fever, rash, joint pain and red eyes.Can have no symptoms, but people may experience:
Pain areas: in the back of the eyes, joints, or muscles.Whole body: fatigue, fever, chills, loss of appetite, or sweating.Also common: eye redness, headache, skin rash, or vomiting
Consult a doctor for medical advice.
 The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a public health emergency for Zika virus. The best form of prevention is protection against mosquito bites.
 Requires -
A medical diagnosis
Lab tests or imaging often required
Spreads by animals or insects
Short-term: resolves within days to weeks
In most cases, there are no symptoms. In a few cases, Zika can trigger paralysis (Guillain-Barré Syndrome). In pregnant women, it may cause subsequent birth defects.
