Former DIG Anura Senanayake Has Filed A Revision Petition By Seeking His Release

The former senior Deputy Inspector General Of Police(DIG) Anura Senanayake who was remanded over his direct involvement to the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen has filed A revision petition in high court through his counsel by seeking his release.

The revision petition was filed after the bail applications of former DIG Senanayake were dismissed by the Colombo Magistrate several times previously.

Through the revision petition the former DIG has named several officials including Attorney General and chief of the Criminal Investigations Department(CID) as respondents.

Former DIG Senanayake was detained by CID on 23rd of May.
