According to a latest World Health Organization(WHO) Report 28.8 persons out of the 100,000 Sri Lankan population are being committed suicide while the suicide ratio in world wide stands as 11 suicides per 100,000 population.
Sri Lanka now in the fourth position among the countries that have highest suicide rates in the world according to WHO.
Liquor Addiction too contributed greatly to the rising number of suicides in the country and the latest statistics available in Ministry Of Health has shown that around 50% of the Sri Lankan Population is addicted to liquor."Liquor Addiction caused some mental disorders and it ended up with suicide "the Health Ministry has stated.
