President Maithripala Sirisena has today(16) instructed the authorities to provide immediate relief to people who affected due to the adverse weather conditions.President has also advised the authorities to issue necessary funds to supply food and other essential facilities.
During a special meeting held at the presidential secretariat today to discuss on the measures should be taken to provide relief to the displaced people ,president has instructed the relevant authorities including the disaster management center ,inspector general of police ,tri forces commanders and the defense secretary to be on alert on future disaster situations.
