The Colombo High Court has today(26) issued an injunction order suspending the Colombo Chief Magistrate's decision to release 15 elephants to their owners on temporary basis on special bonds.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya has last Friday(20) issued an order to government authorities to release 15 elephants taken in to custody from their owners due to keeping them without a valid permit back to the owners until the Kandy Esala Procession(Perahera) and several other processions ended.
