The Government is due to convene an International Donor Conference probably in middle of this year to get an International Financial and Technical Assistance to develop former war torn areas in North and East and had requested Japan to take the lead of that Conference according to State Minister Of National Policy And Economic Development Niroshan Perera.The Donors Conference will be called as Technical Assistance Plus Financial Assistance for the North and East the State Minister has said.
When the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has visited Japan recently he has personally requested the Japanese Government to take the lead of organizing an International Donors Conference for North and East and they are now organizing it Minister has stressed.
The Government has already discussed with many countries including China regarding getting financial investment and assistance to develop war hit North and Eastern Provinces he has further stated.
