One person killed and two were critically injured due to a shooting incident occurred near Kirimatiya Junction at Weerakatiya Area(In Southern Province) this morning according to the Police.The injured persons with life threatening injuries were admitted to the Tangalle(In Southern Province) District Hospital for treatment and the deceased have died upon admission to the Hospital the Police have said.
A gunman who arrived from a Hybrid Van had opened the fire at two persons travelling in a Van and One person in Motor bicycle at Kirimatiya Junction this morning and fled the scene soon after the shooting it has been reported.The deceased has been identified as the driver of the Van.
Police have a lunched a search operation to arrest the gunman.
