An arrest warrant has been issued by the Galle Magistrate Court this morning against Chief Minister of Southern Provincial Council Shan Wijelal Silva.The Galle Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura has issued the arrest warrant as the Chief Minister Of Southern Provincial Council has failed to appear before court in connection with an election violence case according to reports.
The Akmeemana(In Southern Province) Police has filed the case against Chief Minister for allegedly threatening a group of postal voters during the presidential election held last year.Meanwhile the lawyer of the Chief Minister Shan Wijelal has informed the court that his client was not able to appear before court as he is currently is on an overseas tour.
