Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has today(30) instructed the Law and Order Minister Thilak Marapana to inquire and submit a report on the attack on HNDA Course Students by Police During a protest campaign held at Ward Place in Colombo yesterday(29).
During the Protest Police have used Tear Gas and Water Cannons to disperse the protest of HNDA Students as a group of Students have blocked the Ward Place while marching towards University Grants Commission in Ward Place.A Heavy Traffic Jams reported in Several Roads in Colombo last evening due to this Road Block according to Police,
Police have arrested 39 Protesting Students including Two Buddhist Monks due to a violent behavior the Police have said.
Meanwhile The Human Rights Commission In Sri Lanka too has decided to investigate on yesterday's attack against HNDA Students.
The HNDA Students have conducted a Protest March and a Protest in Ward Place by demanding University Grants Commission to solve their problems including giving Degree Status for their Course.
