The Ministry of Health has directed the State pharmaceutical Manufacturing corporation(SPMC) to not to sell their medicinal products to the private sector without the permission of it's sister company the state pharmaceuticals corporation(SPC).According to the health trade unions the previous management of the pharmaceuticals manufacturing corporation involved in a financial Freud by selling some of the 52 medicinal drugs they produced to the private pharmacies.After studying theses incidents Health Minister Maithreepala Sirisena has directed the SPMC Authorities to stop selling these drugs to the private sector and if they want to sell it should be done through their sister company SPC.
